It is an electronic system that can report the location of a GPS tracking device anywhere on earth. The earth-bound GPS tracking device in your dog’s collar can report its position to a listening space-bound satellite by emitting RF signals that can be detected by GPS tracking satellites. The satellite and supporting systems then use the report to locate the device on a human readable map.
That’s how you’ll find your dog when its lost. At the time your dog collar is activated, you are given an 800 number that you must call if you discover your dog is lost. The operator queries the satellite which then reports back to the operator the location of your dog. The operator should be able to tell you where it is in relation to a road map.
