I know you’ve heard this a million times…
“If you want to be healthy, eat your fruits and vegetables”
“Eat Your 5 A Day…”
Unfortunately, the sad fact is that: due to the way they are grown, fruits and vegetables no longer contain the minerals that they used to in the past.
You see, back in the olden days, farmers used to use a piece of land year after year until all the nutrients in the soil that the plants needed to grow ran out.
When this happened, his crops stopped growing and he was forced to start over and move to a new piece of land to grow on.
This using up and moving on process is what farmers did for
centuries…that was until the invention of (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium) NPK fertilizers in the late 19th century.
Scientists figured out that plants needed N,P,K, for growth, and
when they added it to the soil…crops grew big and tall and created a tremendous amount of produce.
Good thing RIGHT?…Well yes and no.
The biggest problem is that although they put NPK back into the soil, they neglected to put back all the other nutrients that the crops absorbed from previous years.
So, while NPK fertilizers resulted in healthy looking crops, no one stopped to consider that those crops might be missing some very essential nutrients…Most importantly: MINERALS.
…Because it’s not in the dirt, it’s not in your dinner!
In 1992, the Earth Summit in Rio De Janeiro presented conclusive
evidence that on average, American farmland was 85 percent depleted of minerals, compared to 75 percent worldwide.

….Shocking huh?
