Technology and modern inventions have drastically changed the world. Some traditions have also been changed because of new concepts that have emerged. At one time, mailing birthday cards a week before someone’s birthday was a popular tradition. If you missed their birthday, you sent a belated birthday card. You had to run to the post office to purchase a stamp just to mail that sacred card. When someone received it, they knew that you’d thought of them.

Some people take offence to getting an online greeting card from someone else. They might enjoy having the physical card to display and save for years to come. Chances are, you already know who those people are and may want to take a few extra moments to buy them a card and mail it to them. Many people are like that around the Christmas holiday. They display the cards that they receive on walls, doors, fireplace mantels, almost anywhere. If you’re sending online greeting cards for Christmas, they aren’t able to do that and are depriving them of one additional card to display. Christmas seems to be the most major of occasions that requires sending out a physical card and not online greeting cards. You don’t want to aggravate anyone around the holidays. They might remember that and put you on their naughty list for the following year! Then, there’s Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. You may want to opt for a regular card for those occasions as well. Your mother probably spent hours bringing you into the world and you can take a few extra moments to mail her a card.

If you’re the type of person who relies on sending online greeting cards, more power to you. Just make sure that the occasions and people you’re sending them too are not likely to get offended. If they are, spend the extra 39 cents and get to the post office.
