Many of my readers have been asking for a quick guide to the features that are imperative for today’s designer diaper bag. This is not an exhaustive list, of course, but a handy guide to keep in mind while doing diaper bag shopping. First, I recommend that the bag have a pull-out diaper changing pad. This is great if you are forced to do some cleanup while in public places or at a friend’s house. Next, all diaper bags have pockets, but not all have specialty pockets for keeping bottles warm. This insulated pocket feature comes in handy if you have an early morning commute, for example. Lastly, make sure the outside of the bag is made of some durable, weather-resistant fabric like waxed canvas or leather. I’ve seen too many so-called designer bags that sacrifice this protection for trendy fabrics.
