Reaching others for Jesus starts with showing the world through our everyday behavior and activities who we are and what we are about. And the world notices. A great way to get their attention is by wearing our witness by putting Christian T-Shirts on our bodies.

We may not get their attention at church but out there in the marketplace, with Christian T-Shirts we sure can.

A majority of unchurched Americans are turned off by the institutional church and don’t have a biblical understanding about God and Jesus, yet they believe Jesus makes a positive difference in a person’s life and would enjoy an honest discussion with a friend about spiritual matters and Lifestyle evangelism..

Those are just a few of the findings from a new study of unchurched Americans conducted by LifeWay Research, a research company that specializes in Reaching others for Jesus.

The results of the study, which polled 1,402 adults who had not attended a religious service at a church, synagogue or mosque in the previous six months, have important implications for Christian churches and individuals who want to effectively reach unchurched people by Reaching others for Jesus. And they underscore why wearing Lifestyle evangelism works for everyday Christian evangelism.

“A full 72 percent of the people interviewed said they think the church ‘is full of hypocrites,’” the study said. “At the same time, however, 71 percent of the respondents said they believe Jesus ‘makes a positive difference in a person’s life’ and 78 percent said they would ‘be willing to listen’ to someone who wanted to talk what they believed about Christianity through conversations about Christ.”

Wearing Christian T-Shirts gives real people in real situations an opportunity to share Christ in non-threatening or institutional settings. We know our job as believers is to tell the world of the hope we truly have in Jesus.

That means we can practice evangelism by becoming a walking billboard. If you need inspiration, think of the words of the great apostle Paul who told the Corinthian church, that we are to consider ourselves “Christ’s ambassadors… as if God was making his appeal through us.”

There’s an old cliche that says that the Christian may be the only Bible some people read. How much easier it is if there’s a Bible verse across our shirt.

Sharing Christ involves a lot more than just talking. It means being lights in a dark world.
